Children represent one of the most vulnerable groups in our society. Due to the growing diversity of media and the important role that media play, the development of media and advertising literacy is of enormous importance: advertising is an integral part of our culture and cannot be imagined without in everyday life. Particularly with regard to the protection of children, a dual system of advertising regulation has developed in Germany, consisting of external control, primarily exercised by the state through laws, and voluntary advertising self-regulation. This book aims to analyze the current ethical and legal framework for advertising communication aimed at children and assess its reliability, as well as highlight the significant importance of the target group of children for the (advertising) industry.
