Focusing on the professional collaboration between youth welfare offices and courts, this nationwide interdisciplinary study presents the gains and losses of the new legal regulations for the protection of children. The interdisciplinary research project "Child Welfare between Youth Assistance and Justice" re-examines, after approximately fifteen years, the interaction between youth welfare offices and courts in the context of the protective mandate in cases of child endangerment. In addition to an overview of new legal regulations, the study presents their impact on the professional actions of institutional actors as well as the experiences of affected children and parents. Based on quantitatively and qualitatively collected data and detailed analyses, the book addresses practice, science, and youth policy, aiming to make a scientific contribution to the further development of action systems in child protection.
