The 100th anniversary of Claus Köpcke's death is the occasion for this monograph. His journey takes him from the Old Country through Hanover and Berlin to the Saxon Ministry of Finance, where he is responsible for the expansion of the railway network. In parallel with J.W. Schwedler, he calculates stiffened suspension bridges as a three-joint system, which he bases on the "Blue Wonder" in Dresden.
