This work describes how to create natural language interfaces for programming software applications. It particularly examines how text analysis can be decoupled from the specific use case, i.e., the targeted software, making it reusable. Two case studies are presented for evaluation: command-driven home automation with openHAB and the generation of 3D animations from English scripts using Alice. This book presents an architecture for programming in natural language, called NLCI. It decouples the application domain from the text analyses: NLCI is an extensible architecture, and its components are reusable. NLCI is evaluated with two case studies in two radically different areas: translating commands for a home automation system (openHAB) and generating 3D animations from English scripts with Alice.
