This work develops analytical inventory models for Heijunka leveling, taking into account fluctuating demand and production processes. This is of greater practical significance than previous scientific models that aim for the most uniform production sequence possible. Questions are addressed that frequently arise in the design of leveling in the industry, such as the design for seasonal demand patterns.
