The modeling of technical combustion systems requires efficient and precise models that accurately describe the coupling of turbulence and combustion. The focus of this work is on the development and evaluation of turbulent combustion models for simulating modern lean combustion concepts for both gaseous and liquid fuels. The concepts are validated using model flames and are applied to and discussed in the context of complex technical systems.
