Product details
The Selketal is one of the most idyllic valleys in the Harz region. Located in the northeastern foothills of the Harz, the approximately 64 km long Selke, which gives the valley its name, is a tributary of the Bode. The valley, forested with native deciduous trees, provides a habitat for numerous rare and endangered animals. With its network of routes along the Selketal, the historic Selketalbahn connects the UNESCO World Heritage city of Quedlinburg with the source area of the Selke in Stiege. The state-recognized resort of Harzgerode lies in the beautiful Selketal between the Selketalstieg and the paths of German emperors and kings, serving as a junction for numerous hiking trails. The new tear- and weather-resistant cycling and hiking map of Harzgerode presents the region from Allrode through Bad Suderode to Meisdorf and from Stolberg through Dankerode to Wippra at a clear scale of 1:33,000, including the complete network of cycling and hiking trails. It thus connects to the hiking region of Stolberg. A terrain shading visualizes the low mountain range, and a UTM grid allows for the use of a GPS device.
