Stefan Steigerwald and Peter Fronteddu demonstrate in this workshop volume how to design and create folding knives without locking mechanisms. The focus is on slipjoint folders, where the blade is held open by spring tension, and on so-called friction folders, which operate solely through friction. Various designs are presented. All tasks can be accomplished with simple tools, without the need for elaborate workshop equipment or extensive prior knowledge. It’s a perfect introduction to the world of folding knife making.
