The East Frisian North Sea village of Pilsum is shaken by brutal murders. Once again, Dr. Josefine Brenner finds herself in the middle of it all. Currently, the retired forensic scientist is staying with her friend Theda in Pilsum, and together they discover the body of Klara Schiller. The beekeeper volunteered to help au pair girls in distress, and recently several au pairs have disappeared without a trace. Shortly after, a second body appears: a beautiful Chinese au pair. Both murdered women were bound at their hands and feet, and red gladioli were found at the crime scenes. Much points to Chinese triads, but organized crime in the depths of East Friesland? Josefine is not entirely convinced by this theory. As always, she investigates in her own way, putting herself in deadly danger.
