This edition provides numerous materials on the origins and background of the long-standing debate alongside the novel. The novel "On the Marble Cliffs," which was published at the beginning of World War II, was long considered an ethical and aesthetic problem book in Ernst Jünger's oeuvre and was often interpreted as a parable of National Socialism.
