Certainly, the connection between personal experiences and historical events is characteristic: reading notes intertwine with observations, war experiences with reflections to create a "sound," while the essence of a diary remains intact. Jünger notes in his preface: "The diary character becomes [...] a hallmark of literature. This is due to various reasons, including [...] the speed. The perception, the diversity of tones can increase to a degree that threatens the form, which is faithfully captured in our painting. In contrast, the diary is the best medium in literary terms. It also remains the last possible conversation in a totalitarian state.".
