Product details

Depth-psychologically based psychotherapy (TfP), also known as psychodynamic therapy or simply depth psychology, is currently the most commonly practiced guideline-based procedure, and its relevance is expected to increase in the future. Nevertheless, it leads a rather shadowy existence in scientific discussions as the "little sister" of "big" psychoanalysis. The authors aim to establish TfP as an independent form of therapy. They explore what can be adopted from the theoretical foundations of classical psychoanalysis and illustrate how this is done through case examples. In practical work, therapists have the opportunity to integrate techniques that classical psychoanalysis does not utilize, such as art therapy, imagery therapy, gestalt therapeutic methods, role-playing, and body-oriented therapy.
