Archipenko changes the traditional perception of sculpture, describes Juan Gris of his works created in early 20th century Paris. A few years earlier, Archipenko had been expelled for rebelling against the teaching methods of the Kiev Academy and made his way to France via Moscow. There, he met Braque and Picasso, was inspired by Marcel Duchamp, and exhibited with the Futurists. Later, he connected with the Dadaists and the Bauhaus in Berlin and eventually emigrated to America.
