The volume exemplifies competency-oriented lesson planning and preparation from the social science perspective of subject teaching. Additionally, it explains lesson examples that particularly aim at connecting with other perspectives. Various ways of conveying relevant knowledge and skills in specifically selected teaching situations are clearly demonstrated. All contributions are aligned with the perspective framework of the GDSU. The contributions address the central perspective-related thematic areas as well as the thinking, working, and action methods of the perspective, and they provide a didactic justification for their significance in social science learning. They relate to learning in the initial teaching phase as well as in subsequent grade levels, thus focusing on cumulative learning.
