Product details

Metaphysics and post-metaphysics are two opposing forms of philosophical thought. Their respective characteristics and their relationship to each other can be understood through two concepts: the concept of the Absolute and the concept of the Subject. Metaphysical thinking revolves around the Absolute, while post-metaphysics takes the Subject as its starting point. Therefore, the Absolute and the Subject also appear to represent opposites. The fundamental idea of this book, however, is that a viable philosophy of subjectivity cannot be developed without engaging with the concept of the Absolute. It seeks to initially elucidate this concept through a confrontation with the tradition of the ontological argument, in order to then make it useful for the issues surrounding the Subject. Ultimately, it aims to anchor the Subject in an Unconditional that can be understood through analogous thinking.
