Mark Twain as a Crime Author

Mark Twain was the voice and heart of the American South. Just as in his beloved novels about Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, he makes his home along the Mississippi the setting for outrageous entanglements in this burlesque crime comedy. It’s an entertaining find for both Twain enthusiasts and newcomers alike. When the lawyer David Wilson settles in Dawson's Landing, he quickly gains a reputation as a crackpot. His Scottish humor, East Coast origins, and penchant for unusual hobbies seem too suspicious: the quirky loner collects fingerprints, practices palmistry, and enjoys pondering everyday wisdom for an almanac named after himself. At first glance, Wilson may seem out of place, but upon closer inspection, there are more original characters in the cozy little town.
