Eine Kuh verlor die Nerven
German, Franz Hohler, 2011Product details
Franz Hohler's first texts are now gathered in a book. At the age of 16, he wrote a small introductory guide on collecting – it was his very first published text. Between 1959 and 1966, Hohler wrote satirical columns, personal accounts, stories, as well as music and theater reviews for the Oltner Tagblatt. The young Hohler amazed readers with a variety of literary forms, all of which served as prototypes for his later work. Whether it was a critique of a wind quintet, a dialogue between Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven, a post-carnival ghost story in the office, or the tale of a cow that lost its nerves before the slaughterhouse – Hohler's texts are easily digestible literary delicacies; and in each one, the later great author and cabaret artist is already evident.
