The publication contains a selection of the lectures presented at the IX Symposium of the International Association of Women Philosophers (IAPh), held from October 11 to 14, 2000, at the University of Zurich. A significant portion of the 91 essays by women philosophers from Western and Eastern Europe, India, Korea, Australia, and the USA is dedicated to the central theme of the symposium, 'Perspectives on Justice.' Additionally, there are contributions addressing the relationship between knowledge, power, and gender, as well as showcasing the wide range of research areas pursued by women philosophers: ethics and politics, moral and social philosophy, bioethics and biomedicine, critiques of reason, science, and knowledge, philosophy of religion, gender difference and identity, history of philosophy and women philosophers, as well as sexuality and pornography. The main lectures by Angelika Krebs, Alison M. Jaggar, Hilge Landweer, Herta Nagl-Docekal, Herlinde Pauer-Studer, and Brigitte Weisshaupt are also published.
