Unpleasant feelings and thoughts, inner tension, and cravings as a pressing impulse to act are central components of addiction therapy. Mindfulness-based approaches in addiction therapy do not focus on change, but rather on the ability to compassionately observe these difficult thoughts, feelings, and impulses without having to act on them. For the first time in the German-speaking world, this book provides an overview of mindfulness-based approaches in addiction therapy.
