Approximately 25% of the population suffers from sleep onset and maintenance disorders (insomnia). Previous therapies are often lengthy. However, the short intervention for insomnia consists of four one-hour sessions. The focus is initially on providing fundamental knowledge about sleep and its characteristics. Following this, four essential sleep rules are introduced. Using specific methods, affected individuals are enabled to incorporate these sleep rules into their daily lives to achieve an improvement in their sleep onset and maintenance problems.
