The relationship with the environment has become a central topic in science and society in recent years. Not only the debates around sustainability but also the many concrete global challenges such as resource management and climate change clearly express this. The volume situates the resulting questions on four different levels: foundational research in environmental ethics, environmental ethics within the political and legal fields, ecological challenges and their ethical dimensions, as well as the cultural dimensions of environmental ethics. A look at perspectives for a future environmental ethics concludes the volume.
