The literature on established methods of social science research is extensive. What has been lacking so far is a foundational overview of these research methods with regard to the specific circumstances and needs of educational science. This volume provides an up-to-date introduction to all common research methods in educational science. Concise historical and theoretical notes facilitate the contextualization. The book presents text-interpretative methods as well as qualitative and quantitative empirical methods. The numerous examples included all stem from educational research. The aim is that after reading, small research projects can be independently planned and conducted - from problem formulation to hypothesis development, data collection, and analysis.
