The question of Jesus as the Christ lies at the heart of the Christian faith. At the same time, Christological themes present a particular challenge, not only because personal confession to Christ eludes any mediation, but also because the Christological language of tradition is often no longer understood and requires translation. For this reason, there is a strong temptation to limit oneself to a seemingly simpler "Jesusology" instead of grappling with the central theological questions. In contrast, this presentation provides access to Christology, especially in the school context. It is oriented towards fundamental Christological themes, incorporates interpretations gathered from empirical research involving children and adolescents, and opens up didactic perspectives for teaching practice.
