In a construction project, many individual trades must interlock both temporally and technically for the project to be completed as planned. Typically, it is the architect, and sometimes other parties involved, who bear the responsibility of coordinating and supervising these trades. The HOAI 2013 established these coordination responsibilities for the first time; previously, only judicial regulations existed. Adhering to these coordination obligations is of great importance in practice, as failure to consider them or inadequate fulfillment can lead to extensive liability consequences. The manual presents these obligations, liability, and the relevant case law in a compact, systematic, and practice-oriented manner.
