Inclusion has established itself as a guiding principle and program for political, social, and educational change. The demand is for the inclusion of all, with hope for an inclusive society. Under the motto of participation, the joyful prospect of a place in the midst of society is proclaimed. However, the debate—where the book's "critique" begins—is conducted in a general manner, presenting itself as a total strategy that needs to be implemented socially. The specific individuals, their life situations, lifestyles, and practices, and especially their subjectivity with its peculiarities and idiosyncrasies, are not taken into account. The question remains open regarding the society into which these individuals are to be "included": Is it the current one or a utopically transformed one? Those who speak of inclusion must also address the quality of a society.
