Product details

Resilience research is gaining intensity, but theology and philosophy are only slowly entering the discourse. The constitutive significance of religion and spirituality for the phenomenon of resilience is known; however, their theoretical clarification and practical application remain unresolved. The results of the Bonn project "Resilience and Spirituality" thus fill a research gap. Theoretical, literary, and practical findings expand existing lines of research and invite interdisciplinary critique, supplementation, and further development. The contributions of the volume formulate academically grounded criteria for a critique of the economically flattened concept of resilience: resilience is not a harmless wellness term, but marks an ambivalent crisis phenomenon that needs to be understood precisely. Only in this way can the concept and phenomenon of resilience unfold their significance.
