In many fire service operations, injured individuals are involved who need to be freed, rescued, and transported together with the emergency medical services. However, for firefighters who are not deployed in emergency medical services, dealing with patients can be challenging, and the appropriate transport techniques are often unfamiliar. This booklet thoroughly addresses the movement and carrying of individuals, various positioning options and transport aids, patient-oriented rescue from vehicles, as well as different rescue and transport techniques in the field. It thus helps to carry out the rescue and transport as gently as possible for the patient and to improve collaboration with emergency medical services.
