Supply Chain Management (SCM) refers to the integration of business processes from the end user through the original suppliers, providing products, services, and information that add value for customers. SCM is particularly based on concepts from production and logistics management, operations research, the use of innovative information and communication technologies, as well as theoretical and practical insights from cooperation management. The demand for training in this field is high, and this new management concept has now overshadowed the classical sub-disciplines of production economics in business administration.
