Few political topics have occupied the "old" Bonn Republic as long and as intensely as the terror of the Red Army Faction (RAF). From its founding in 1970 to its self-proclaimed dissolution in 1998 - nearly thirty years - the RAF kept the republic on edge. This volume places the RAF in the context of the history of the Federal Republic since the 1970s and examines the interactions between terrorists, the state, the media, and society.
