The cooperative leadership system is established as a binding leadership guideline in the Police Service Regulation 100 for all police leaders. In light of the current discussion about the necessity of realigning the cooperative leadership system in the police leadership sector, the question arises as to which fundamental ideas of cooperative leadership could serve as a framework for orientation and action. Basic considerations must be made regarding how leaders should address the challenges arising from dynamic societal change processes in their everyday leadership. In this context, the core ideas of cooperative leadership, the complexity of everyday leadership, the expectations placed on leaders, and the significance of organizational culture must be examined in detail.
