The book describes the fundamentals of mathematical modeling of cellular systems. After a classification of models, it focuses primarily on deterministic models and provides corresponding equations for all relevant cellular processes. Subsequently, a number of methods for model analysis are presented. Methods for reverse engineering and network graph analysis are discussed in somewhat less detail. Finally, procedures for parameter identification are addressed.
