Ruben Steinhoff has developed a thermodynamic design procedure for a test rig, which served as the basis for its structural implementation. In particular, the simultaneous investigation of heat transfer coefficients during the condensation and evaporation of refrigerants on the outside of smooth and structured pipes distinguishes this test rig and allows for efficient measurement series. Initial measurement results following the completion of this work show good agreement with common data from the literature.
