This volume aims to clarify the role that Germany and other Western countries played and continue to play in the development of Ukraine. It addresses the political and economic interests that primarily motivated the Federal Republic of Germany and the United States to intervene in internal Ukrainian affairs. The study examines the tools of influence and means of power that Western politics employed in this context. Additionally, it looks at the tradition of Ukraine that Western states connected to and continue to attempt to engage with: that of the Nazi collaboration of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.
