Is it really just an ordinary Friday in November? Almost fourteen-year-old Kim, a dreamy outsider, is coming home from school. Soon she’ll be home! She lives with her mother in a rental building in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It was yet another terrible school day. Some spiteful classmates are convinced that Kim is crazy, and even her mother occasionally fears that might be true. On her way home, strange things happen that Kim doesn’t pay much attention to at first. When she reaches her house, she discovers that her key no longer fits in the lock. And that’s not all. Her name has disappeared from the doorbell. The names of all the neighbors are gone too. Strange people now live in her building. Where her apartment used to be in the morning, ugly curtains now hang in the windows that she doesn’t recognize. Is Kim dreaming, or is this reality? Her mother is away on business.
