There are many nude photography books featuring women, but fewer that focus on men. Men's nude volumes primarily target gay men. In most of these books, a specific body type is favored. Anja Müller does not photograph models meant to satisfy a particular gaze; instead, she presents the photographed individuals in a personal and intimate manner. Her images tell stories about the people depicted. Some men are completely naked, while others remain partially covered; this also creates a sensual tension within the book.
