The aim of this work was to design and develop new image processing methods for the analysis and optimization of rotary kiln processes. It demonstrates how the newly developed methods can be used to analyze specific areas and effects of rotary kiln processes. The newly obtained information enables the optimization of the process control of rotary kiln processes in terms of both economic and ecological goals.
