Cooperations have gained significant acceptance in both competition theory and competition law. This book offers contributions on this current topic from normative, real-theoretical, and empirical perspectives. The tension between cooperation and competition was the overarching theme of the Scientific Annual Conference of the Association of University Professors for Business Administration. Two aspects were at the forefront of the discussion: the efficiency of new forms of cooperation as specific institutional arrangements in competition with pure market transactions under the influence of new information technologies and trends towards the globalization of national economies; on the other hand, the interaction between the emergence of new corporate cooperations and the changing competitive environment. The contributions compiled in this volume reflect the current state of research.
