Profound media upheavals since the late 20th century have significantly changed the cultural engagement with imagery and art. A 21st-century art education must address this and respond through its designs of art didactics. This volume arises from a conference held by the Competence Center for Art Education at the Institute of Art History at the University of Kiel. It brings together ten contributions that discuss positions and aspects of art didactics from various perspectives, aiming to inspire a media- and contemporary-oriented art education.
