Playing today often also means digital gaming, whether indoors or outdoors, together or alone, sitting or in motion. Computer games have been a cultural asset for over a decade, and digital gaming is part of the everyday lives of many children and adolescents. Urban gaming opens up new play spaces, while virtual and augmented reality further expand the possibilities for action. Making and coding playfully combine programming, crafting, and tinkering. What about pedagogy? How can schools and extracurricular educational and experiential fields both appreciate and benefit from the media and cultural practices of children and adolescents?
