When his thoughts wander, Ernesto is once again the manager of a bank branch, but in reality, the quiet retiree spends his days in a nursing home. His excursions into the past are symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, which Ernesto tries to hide from doctors and caregivers as best as he can. For patients who can no longer care for themselves, there awaits the locked ward for dementia cases, the final stop. Together with other patients, the headstrong Émile, who defies the daily routine of the home with his petty criminal energy, Madame Rose, who believes she is traveling on the Orient Express to Istanbul, and the couple Georgette and Marcel, for whom Alzheimer's has left only one shared memory, Ernesto takes up the fight against forgetting.
