They have replaced the old disciplinary model of society, without abolishing discipline altogether. Instead of a normalization of the subject according to socially prescribed role models, there is now a compulsion for creative self-realization under the banner of competition. It seems that attitudes and lifestyles that once allowed for a qualitative freedom have changed.
