Product details

Criticism is not doing particularly well. Especially in the year marking the 50th anniversary of 1968, it becomes apparent how dull, uninspired, and powerless societal criticism appears. It seems to no longer surprise or provoke anyone today, and it appears to be caught in old rhetoric. Who is still interested in the classic intellectual? And who seriously believes that societal criticism can actually bring about change? In academic debates, criticism is even suspected of reinforcing existing conditions and serving as a kind of lubricant in the neoliberal machinery. Meanwhile, in social networks, criticism seems to lose all measure and purpose. In both the digital and analog realities, with increasing aggression comes heightened sensitivity, and often, even a reference to the authentically offended is enough to trigger a response.
