The textbook is designed for the theoretical training of skilled workers in plastics technology and is also suitable for master and technician training.

The content and structure of the textbook are aligned with the binding curricula for vocational training as a plastics and rubber technologist, as well as with the framework curriculum of the Conference of Ministers of Education.

Starting from the general fundamentals, all specialization areas in the training are presented.

The authors placed great emphasis on the practical representation of the curriculum content.

The chosen sequence of the 19 chapters of the textbook is suitable for reviewing the basic knowledge up to the various specialization areas of plastics technology for training and further education in master and technician training.

In the 7th edition, new topics such as recycling, rotational molding, and the production of conveyor belts have been added. The chapters "Tolerances and Fits" and "Electrical Fundamentals" have undergone extensive revision. At the same time, the topic area "Special Processes for Processing Molding Compounds" has been expanded. Additionally, a large number of images and drawings have been exchanged and updated.
