Jakob likes his name, and even more, he enjoys the many nicknames his parents give him. But then everything changes. The atmosphere at home becomes increasingly tense, the names give way to hurtful expressions, until the words eventually disappear completely. The boy goes into hiding and explores his own peculiar world with a self-built "shaffel" behind bulletproof glass. A special encounter makes him realize how important it is to open up and confront uncomfortable things instead of hiding away.
