Saturday is simply the best day, thinks Matilda. No kindergarten, no school, the parents sleep in longer, and just think of all the things you could do: look forward to the tastiest breakfast of the week, then pick flowers or have a picnic. If only it weren't for the rain! Matilda likes it, but her little sister Clemmie just finds it too wet! Matilda first has to show her that rain can be fun: you can smell how wonderful it is, jump in puddles, let drops fall on your tongue, and search for earthworms. And if you're lucky - and the two of them are lucky - a beautiful colorful rainbow even appears! But then Matilda makes a big mistake and Clemmie is inconsolable. Until Matilda has a good idea, Saturday is saved - and everyone can look forward to Sunday. Because Sunday is simply the very best day...
