Elementary school children have a distinct interest in art. They possess extensive and differentiated receptive abilities. This applies not only to child-appropriate art but also to complex and content-rich positions in contemporary art. It is important to highlight that reflecting on the meaning and significance of artworks holds a central place for children. Engaging with art is directly linked to their own life realities. A specific reception methodology is required that promotes children's receptive capacities. This methodology integrates cognitive as well as artistic-practical approaches, thereby addressing the life contexts, needs, and interests of children.
