Draft lesson plan from the year 2019 in the subject area Didactics - German - Pedagogy, Linguistics, grade: 1,3, University of Stuttgart (German Studies), language: German, abstract: This paper presents a draft lesson plan for a double lesson in the subject German of a 6th grade of a grammar school in Baden-Württemberg. The double lesson covers the subject area of prose short forms, especially sagas. With short prose, basic competencies that are to be trained in the context of grammar school education can be taken up. A central aspect of the subgenre is the brevity already anchored in its name. This encourages pupils to read and continue reading, motivates them and prevents them from losing the desire to read so quickly. In this way, the desire for literary learning can be encouraged, especially in children who do not like to read books. The aspect that the subject matter of short prose usually ties in with the adolescents' world of life also has a motivating effect. For these reasons, short prose is indispensable in German lessons at the Gymnasium. The sagas, which were thematised for the first time in the lower school in the 2016 education plan, form an important basis for later learning and reading processes, as the pupils get to know certain material and motifs that they will find again in their later school careers, for example in novels or dramas.
