The introduction of the carriage driving licenses A - Private Individual and B - Commercial is part of a comprehensive initiative by the German Equestrian Federation (FN) aimed at safe driving with horse-drawn vehicles in road traffic. The goal is that in the future, every driver of a horse-drawn vehicle participating in road traffic must demonstrate the appropriate qualification and can immediately present their carriage driving license. The newly released textbook clearly conveys all exam-relevant content for the carriage driving license courses as well as the "Safety of Horse-Drawn Vehicles" section within the FN badge FA5. The focus of the carriage driving license A - Private Individual is particularly on safe, anticipatory driving in road traffic and off-road, the correct training of traffic-safe horses, and safety aspects regarding vehicles, harnesses, and other equipment.
