America in the 1930s, during the Great Depression. To escape poverty and unemployment, Bonnie and Clyde develop a unique business model: they rob banks. Admired by the losers of the American Dream, they keep the country on edge for two years. Death or freedom, that is their solution. No one manages to break through the cordon of solidarity that surrounds them. But then FBI Director Hoover declares war on the two criminals.
