Maja Haderlap's poems have something to tell. They speak with fascinating intensity about being foreign and coming home, about vast landscapes and cramped dwellings, about people who are on their way: in search of what could define their lives. This could be the Other, the Neighbor, the Community, or it could be solitude or the poem itself, for which a language must be found. Deep emotionality arises precisely because it is not conjured.
